The meaning of ZAREI.
ZAREI is a Judo terminology for seated bow and is usually performed at the beginning and end of a Judo class. The seated bow (ZAREI) has no religious meaning and is a means of showing respect and modesty. It is respect for your training partner and shows a Judoka's ( person who trains Judo) appreciation to another Judoka who allows them to have someone to practice with. ZAREI is a sign of respect that has always been part of the Judo etiquette and enables all to practice our skills safely and in a respectful manner.
